Auto Accidents

Automobile accidents can result in significant and permanent injuries and sometimes death. These accidents also leave victims with property damage, wage loss and financial burden.

Florida Law allows accident victims to pursue damages from the at-fault party of the accident. Damages include wage loss, out of pocket medical expenses, pain and suffering, vehicle damage and other losses.

If you are involved in an Automobile Accident you should call law enforcement to report the accident and request a crash report . If  law enforcement does not come to the accident scene, be sure to obtain the names of all of the parties involved in the accident as well as driver’s license numbers, auto tag numbers, and make and model of all vehicles involved in the accident. Request the name, phone number and address of any witnesses. If possible, take photos of the accident scene, all vehicles and any injuries.

It is important to seek medical care for any injuries. Call an ambulance if anyone is injured and follow up with a medical provider for any pain or injuries sustained in the accident.

You should also contact your insurance company to report the accident. Do not give a recorded statement to anyone until you have talked with a lawyer. As soon as an accident is reported, the insurance companies begin investigations. The at-fault party’s insurance company will try to minimize the amount of recovery an accident victim may be entitled to receive. Therefore, it is crucial for an accident victim to contact an attorney for advice.
